Manual Osteopathy in Calgary
Manual osteopathy is performed by a licensed and registered therapist who provides hands-on therapy that focuses on how your muscles, joints, nerves, and internal structures work together as a whole.
Many people equate a manual osteopath to a chiropractor because both practitioners assess structural imbalances in order to assist with reducing neuro- musculoskeletal pain. Both practitioners aim to correct these structural imbalances with osteoarticular techniques even if these techniques are vastly different.
What might not be so well known is that manual osteopathy includes 3 more modalities which can be done during one overall treatment or separated out as their own individual treatments.
These are:
Visceral Manipulation - a manual therapy to encourage normal mobility, tone and inherent motion of the internal organs and connective tissue wherever it's been impaired. Less visceral restriction leads to greater ease, adaptability and health expression.
Craniosacral therapy (CST) - another gentle, hands-on treatment utilizing a light touch to release tension in the connective tissues (fascia) surrounding the central nervous system.
Advanced Fascia Release - specialized manual therapy that targets the fascia—the dense, three-dimensional web of connective tissue that envelopes every muscle, bone, nerve, and organ. Unlike traditional massage which focuses on muscles, advanced fascia release addresses chronic pain and restricted movement by eliminating "snags" or adhesions in this internal webbing
Treatments are comfortable, personalized, and designed to help you move more freely and feel better every day — right here in Calgary, Alberta.
